I've done every job in this building.
My career didn't follow a straight line — it followed wherever the work was needed most. Each stop taught me something the last one couldn't: what it takes to build, to govern, to run the operation, and to lead when no one else could.
I do this work — the book, the speaking, the consulting through ChalkForge — because effective governance is learnable, and most boards have never been taught.
What I believe
Every kid deserves the best possible education — not just those who can afford private school or access a charter. Parents know what's best for their kids and should have real choices to meet their needs. These kids are the future of our country. We owe them every possible opportunity.
Charter school founder — built a school from the ground up.
Elected board member & board president — governed from the dais, including through conflict.
